6. Traffic

It is located in the metropolitan area, so the transportation environment is good. The subway stations nearby are Osan Station on Line 1 and Osan University Station , and the surrounding commercial district is also good. In addition, there is Osan Bus No. 1311 that connects to Yangjae and Gangnam Station, so it is well connected to the Gangnam area. It is the southernmost comprehensive university where you can travel to Seoul in one go by direct seat bus. However, strangely, students who visit Osan University for the first time will see a unique sight. Those who are visiting or planning to visit Osan University for the first time will definitely get off at Osan University Station. However, if you get off at Osan University Station, Osan Station may feel closer to Osan University than Osan University Station, as the Mulhyanggi Arboretum is closer to the apartment complex. However, the name Osan University Station is not so bad. This is because a free shuttle bus runs frequently from in front of Osan University Station to the school. Since the sidewalk from Osan University Station to Osan University is not very good, it is better to use the free shuttle bus. You can get off at Osan University Station Exit 2 and wait for the free shuttle bus that runs every 20 minutes at the station plaza. This is because Osan University Station is in Sucheon-dong and Osan University is in Cheonghak-dong. If you want to go to Osan University, you can either get off at Osan Station and walk to Osan University or take a bus such as 2-2. If you exit Osan Station toward Namchon-dong and cross the Osancheon Rainbow Bridge, you can walk relatively short. In addition to the aforementioned 2-2, there are also buses such as 2 and 33-1. If you want to go from Osan University Station, you can take a shuttle bus or a village bus. The shuttle bus from Osan University Station even operates during vacation. There are school buses, but only the school buses that go back and forth between Osan University Station and Osan University are free. All school buses except the ones that run only from the school to Osan University Station are paid. As a side note, the terminus of the wide-area bus 1311 was the school parking lot, but it is no longer visible due to the extension to Tap-dong. However, buses come and go frequently from the bus stop near the school. Since you can go to Gangnam by waiting at the bus stop right in front of the school, it is popular among students who commute from Seoul.

This building houses most of the school’s major institutions, including the president’s office and the admissions office.

It is located between the university headquarters and Cheongam Hall.

Cheongam Hall

It’s the building right next to the gym. There’s a passageway connected to the future building on the 3rd floor.

Hall of Hope

It is the building opposite Cheongamgwan. The entrance of this building, seen right from Cheongam Hall, is thought to be on the first floor, but it is actually on the third floor. The entrance on the first floor is visible only when you go down to the playground.

Future Hall

You can go up the stairs at the back of Cheongam-gwan. There is an easy way to get there via the passage on the 3rd floor of Cheongam-gwan.

Creation hall

It is the first building you see when you climb up the hill to the main gate.

View of truth

It is the building you see if you continue straight up the hill from the main gate. There is a student center at the back.

Student hall

It is located behind Jinri Hall, and the student cafeteria and student council are located here.

Jiseong Hall

It is the building right behind Miraegwan. Inside, there are buildings 1 through 3, and they are all connected.

Cheonghak Hall

It is located between the general information center and the university headquarters.

General Information Hall

This building is located between Jiseong Hall and Cheonghak Hall. Almost all the facilities that students frequently visit, such as the Career Support Center, Academic Affairs Office, and Library, are located here. 9. Incident suspicion

In the 1978-2010s, bullies at Osan Middle and High School often got reverse tours while trying to rob students of Osan University. However, as these bullies were connected with local gangsters in Hwaseong-si and Osan-si , there were cases where Osan University students had to beware. Because the problem of juvenile delinquents was so serious, a professor at the Department of Police Administration led and rehabilitated juvenile delinquents at the gym . Now, because of the population cliff, the size of Osan Middle and High School has shrunk considerably, and there are almost no cases of bullies crowding around.

Suspicions of inflating the number of students

In July 2023, there was a suspicion of manipulation of the student recruitment rate. Osan University’s ‘manipulation of the student recruitment rate’ suspicion… Professors ‘pressuring the chairman’, etc. submitted materials to the police. On May 9, 2024, the police discovered that Osan University had inflated the number of students and unfairly received subsidies from the Ministry of Education, and searched and seized the university headquarters and the chairman’s office.

11. Etc

As it is the only junior college in Osan City, there are many exchanges with Hanshin University , the only comprehensive university in Osan City . However, linkage is not allowed. In the first place, the departments do not overlap with each other. While Hanshin University has a clear progressive academic climate, Osan University does not have a particularly strong political color, so they disregard each other.
There are Gyeonggi Osan Middle School and Gyeonggi Osan High School next to the main gate of the campus .
Osan University’s store is also used by many Osan Middle School students. This happens because the campuses are not separated. Osan University’s small playground is also frequently used by Osan Middle School.
There are a whopping 6 Pokestops densely packed together, and they are even lined up side by side, so you can get a decent amount of Poké Balls. During the day, there is a security guard blocking the front, so you have to go around to the high school to enter.
In December 2017, the department reorganization was carried out. Regardless of the department, the department was reorganized, and as a result of this process, some departments were closed.
