History of the establishment and development of Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology
Established in 1940, the College of Nursing Technology, now Daejeon University of Science and Technology, is located in Seo-gu, southwest of Daejeon Technology City, just 1 hour by train from Seoul. Daejeon is known as the “Silicon Valley of the land of kimchi,” home to leading universities and science and technology research institutes that are considered the leading research institutes in Korea.
The school is famous for its Nursing, Hospitality, Construction, and Biomedical Engineering programs. Currently, the school maintains cooperative relationships with 48 leading universities in 9 countries around the world, including Newcastle University (Australia), Korea University (TOP SKY of Korea), Whitworth University (USA), and Davenport University (UK).
Daejeon University of Science and Technology is honored to be ranked as the TOP 3 school in providing direct visa codes for studying abroad in 2021. This means that students who register to participate in the Korean language program at the school only need to pay tuition for the first 6 months. The school is ranked A by the Korean Ministry of Education, the only school in Daejeon City to have this title.
The Nursing Department of Daejeon University of Science and Technology is awarded a 5-year “Nursing Education” certificate by the Korean Ministry of Education. The school’s library was voted the best quality university library in Korea in 2015. In particular, the Hyechon Tower located in the school is certified by Guinness technology as the tower with the largest bell system in the world with 78 bells.

Korean language program
In 2020, students who register to study Korean at the school will have a special offer when they only need to pay tuition for the first 6 months, instead of having to pay the full tuition for the whole year like some other schools in Korea.
The school’s study program is organized with 4 admission periods a year, starting in March, June, September and December. Each academic year is divided into 4 semesters, each lasting 10 weeks. This gives students the opportunity to study continuously and flexibly according to the semesters that best suit their personal schedules.
In addition, the program is also combined with Korean cultural experience classes, held 1 to 2 times per semester. This helps students not only master the language knowledge but also better understand the cultural characteristics of Korea.
In addition to the main courses, the school also offers additional classes such as TOPIK preparation, cultural classes such as calligraphy, taekwondo, writing, pronunciation and listening to daily conversations. This brings a diverse and rich experience to students, helping them develop comprehensively in language skills and cultural understanding.

Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology
The University Dormitory was built in 2011 with hotel-style architecture, ensuring convenience and comfort for users. In total, the dormitory has 369 double rooms, with the capacity to accommodate up to 734 students.
The cost of staying in the dormitory is 720,000 KRW/year (equivalent to 14,400,000 VND). In addition, the cost of meals is also determined to be 600,000 KRW/semester (equivalent to 12,000,000 VND), helping students to have a stable and convenient life during their studies.
Each room in the dormitory is fully equipped with amenities including a desk, wardrobe, bed, chair and wifi connection, creating favorable conditions for students to study and live.
In addition, the dormitory also has common facilities such as counseling rooms, reading rooms, multi-purpose rooms, conference rooms, recreation rooms, clean rooms and dining rooms with 300 seats, creating a complete and modern living and learning environment for the student community.
